In order to fully enjoy the SightSpeed experience, you need the following components: Computer A list of cameras we recommend can be found on our compatible cameras page. A high quality camera will greatly improve your SightSpeed experience. Headset While only a microphone is required, audio will sound much better if you use a headset. Using a headset eliminates echo caused by the microphone picking up sound coming out of a pair of speakers. If you don't use a headset, check the appropriate box on the "Microphone Settings" dialog box and SightSpeed will use echo suppression technology to minimize the effect of echo. ![]() High-Speed Internet To send video, SightSpeed requires a broadband or other fast Internet connection. You need a connection that sends data to the Internet at a speed of 128 Kbps or greater. [Note: This is your upload speed. Download speeds for broadband connections are typically much higher than upload speeds. For example, basic ADSL speeds in the U.S. are approximately 1500 Kbps download and 128 Kbps upload.] ** Users with dial-up Internet connections can make voice and video calls using SightSpeed. They will experience clear audio, but video will not have smooth motion. SightSpeed Software You can download the SightSpeed software free of charge from this website.
